Site-to-Site VPN Configuration FAQ

Q: How do I configure a Katana gateway to accept VPN connections from a Katana client?

A. In the IP Security Policies window, turn on the "Accept secure connections from anywhere" and "Respond with IPsec NAT traversal" options. In the pre-shared text-key window, enter a key between the gateway ID and the remote client ID. Once the client is configured correctly, it will be able to establish a VPN connection to the Katana gateway.

Q: How do I establish a VPN connection between a Katana client and a VPN gateway?

A. A VPN tunnel must be configured at the client with the correct IKE/IPsec settings, pre-shared secret, public IP address of the remote gateway, etc. Please refer to the chapter on using the Katana client and the interop documents on our website for step-by-step guides to configuring VPN tunnels between a Katana client and any VPN gateway.

Q: How do I configure an OmniVPN gateway to accept VPN connections from OmniVPN remote client?

A. Each client must have a valid certificate, and the security policy must be set to secure communication (via Transport end-to-end mode) between the subnets behind the OmniVPN gateway and the road warrior subnet. The road warrior subnet can be viewed or changed on the "Policy server" tab in the Configuration window on the policy server.
